Review:W7 Oh So waterproof mascara

Hi,

Today I am going to be reviewing the W7 Oh So waterproof  mascara which I gave my first impression of in this post a few weeks ago: http://make-up-by-maria.blogspot.com/2011/11/first-impression-w7-oh-so-waterproof.html

Well I have been wearing now for the past few weeks and LOVE it.  It doesn't give you a lot of volume but does give you length- and is easy to work with and remove.  But it doesn't fall either and it is easy to build up as well!

Overall I love this mascara and will continue to wear it!

Review: Asda lash xtend waterproof mascara

Hi,
Today I am going to be reviewing the Lash Xtend mascara which is available from Asda in the UK and costs around £2-£4 depending if there is an offer on-which there often is on the Asda make-up products.
I was really disappointed in this mascara, as it has the formula that I like in most mascaras- Black-Waterproof and Plastic bristle brush.
But the reason I hated this mascara was the brush- due to it being so big- which meant that it was difficult not to get it on your lids and resulted in having to work with it a  lot to make sure that the lashes didn't clump- and i don't feel that it added a lot of length to my lashes either!

Review: MUA Bronzer

Hi,
Today I will be review the MUA Bronzer in shade 3, which costs £1 and is available from Superdrug and www.muastore.co.uk.

I don't normally wear a bronzer- as I didn't want to look to sun kissed!, but recently I tried this MUA one for a conture, me cheek bones. This bronzer is perfect as it has hardly any shimmer and isn't to muddy either!

I also like the fact that the packaging is clear as it makes it easy to find what product your looking for quickly.

Review:Barry M Bold Black Waterproof eyeliner

Hi,
Today I am going to be reviewing the Barry M Bold Black Waterproof eyeliner, which is available from both Boots and Superdrug in the UK and costs £3.99.
I both love and hate this liner, I love it because it goes on so smooth and has a creamy texture.  It is easy to vary the thickness of your line, and also the price- but due to my hooded eye shape and oily lids this liner as like so many others it transfers onto my upper eye lid without fail!

Overall I believe that this would be a great product if you don't have hooded eyes or products don't seem to budge on you!

Review: MUA Blusher-Shade 1

Hi,
Today I am going to be reviewing the MUA Blushers in Shade 1, which is a bright Pink, and is available from Superdrug stores and www.muastore.co.uk, and costs £1

I really like this blush as it is very build-able, as you can do a very light sweep to give your cheeks a lovely healthy glow or build it up for a brighter pink coverage.  Also at just £1 is it great value and you can afford to experiment with different colours as well!

First Impression: W7 Oh So Waterproof Mascara

Hi
This is My First Impression of the  W7 Oh So Waterproof Mascara.  I paid £1.99 for this Mascara which is available from TJ Hughes.  Which is available from amazon for £1.18+shipping
http://www.amazon.co.uk/W7-Oh-So-Waterproof-Mascara/dp/B002TXYAU2
This mascara is a plastic bristle brush with very short bristles meaning that you can get right to the base of the lash line!

This is my lashes after one coat!
As you can see it left my lashes very long- and didn't clump!
Within the next few weeks I will do a more in depth review, to see if it falls on my under eye area- and how easy it is to build
-on my first impression I am liking this mascara!

Review/nail of the day:Barry M nail effects

Hi,
Today I am going to be reviewing the Barry M Nail effects in 319, Foil, which is a silver colour.
As the name of the polish suggest this product is meant to look like foil on your nails, similar to Minx's nails.
This is one the the most disappointing products that I have tried from Barry M, as in my opinion it did not look any better than a normal silver nail polish, and didn't have any foil effect!

I feel that the quality of this product can not be compared to that of the normal high quality Barry M varnishes, and I think the picture is making the product appear better than it actually looked on!
Overall I would have to say that I was quite disappointed in this product as I did have high hopes considering the normal high quality Barry M products! I would say that unless you are looking for an average silver nail polish- then try this- if not I would skip this one!

Review:Collection 2000 Lasting Perfection concealer

Hi,
This is my review of the Collection 2000 Lasting Perfection concealer.  This concealer is available from Boots and Superdrug in the UK, and costs around about £4-£4.19.
I really love this concealer for three main reasons:
1)the price
For such a good product, the price is amazing.
2)the high quality
Does exactly what it says on the tube, covers spots and helps to even out skin tone- and dark circles!
3) easiness
Has a doe foot applicator meaning that you can apply on the go with out a brush!

Overall I would defiantly recommend this product, as it helps you to achieve flawless result- on a budget!

Christmas Gift guide-For Her-Make-up

Hi,
This is my list of possible gift ideas for her.

1) My first idea would be a light up mirror.  I received this one last year- and don't know how I ever lived without it!- one side is a regular mirror and the other 5 times magnified.  It is available from Boots, in store and online- http://www.boots.com/en/No7-Illuminated-Make-up-Mirror-Exclusive-to-Boots_982588/- and costs £20. I feel that this would be a amazing gift as it is suitable for woman and girls of all ages-Teenagers just getting into make-up and older woman, who may decide to take a little more care in their appearance!

2) My second idea is the NYX Nude on Nude, eyeshadow and lip pallet.  This is an ideal pallet for someone just getting into make-up as it provides them with essential colours for both eyes and lips!, also it is a good pallet for those who like travelling as you can get many different eye looks from the one pallet.  I purchased mine in the UK from my local TK Maxx Store, and it cost £14.99.

3)As you may be able to tell by my many nail of the day post I love nail varnish- and when I received the 17 mini nail library as a gift, I thought it was great, for those who are just starting out and experimenting with nail polish- and also it gives you a wide variety of choices in one box.  It is available from boot stores and online-http://www.boots.com/en/17-Mini-Nail-Library_1219471/ and it costs £10

4)Another idea would be to do a hamper- one could be for nails-you could include the nail wardrobe from above- with one of my favourite products the Sally Hansen Insta-Dri top coat, which I have used many times and love, which is available from Boots and Superdrug, and costs £6.15.  You could also include a nail file, I like the Leighton Denny one from Boots, as it also includes a buffer, and costs £6.15,http://www.boots.com/en/Leighton-Denny-Quatro-Nail-File-Buffer_927622/. Also you can include a hand and nail cream to ensure that the nail is kept in the best condition possible, http://www.boots.com/en/Neutrogena-Norwegian-Formula-Hand-Nail-Cream-75ml_1114043.  Finally you could include some nail varnish remover and cotton pads, for when it is time to take the nail varnish off.

Review: Nude on Nude Pallet

Hi,
Today I am going to be reviewing the NYX Nude on Nude Pallet. I purchased this pallet from T K Maxx and cost £14.99.

This pallet consists of 20 eye shadows and 10 lip colours. The eye shadows consists of lighter natural nude colours and some darker colours for a perfect smoky eye.  There are both matt and shimmer colours in the pallet, which makes it an ideal pallet for someone starting off in make-up or someone who likes to travel at they have plenty of eye shadows for various looks, as well as the good quality lip colours!

As you can see in the picture above the lip colours slide out from underneath the eye shadows making this pallet very compact.

Overall I really like this pallet as I think it offers some great basics for any make up kit- such as the matt white and black- and is very affordable and would make a great gift!

Review: MUA Trio Eyeshadow

Hi
Today I am going to be reviewing the MUA Professional Trio eyeshadow in Blue Babe, Which is available from Superdrug, in selected shops and online in the UK and costs £2.50.
http://www.superdrug.com/make-up-academy/make-up-academy-professional-trio-eyeshadow-blue-babe/invt/267671/&bklist=
Make Up Academy Professional Trio Eyeshadow Blue Babe

I like this eyeshadow trio as it means that you have a complete eye look on one compact.
The first colour you have is the pale blue, (top of the picture) which all over  lid colour.
Next you have the middle colour on the picture above which is a pale shimmery champaign colour, which is ideal for brow bone highlight and inner corner.
Finally You have the navy blue colour, which is also shimmery, which would work well as your crease colour, or lash line.

All three shades are shimmery, and all have nice pigmentation and texture to them.  Overall I do like these shadows, these shades are not the most wearable on me, so I may try the other colours that are available in the future.

Review:MUA Lip Gloss

Hi,
Today I am going to be reviewing the MUA Lip Gloss, in Shade 4, which is available from Superdrug in the UK and on the Superdrug website:
http://www.superdrug.com/make-up-academy/make-up-academy-lipgloss-shade-4/invt/204779/&bklist=
Also is its available from the MUA site:
http://www.muastore.co.uk/index.php/lip-gloss
Make Up Academy Lipgloss Shade 4
I really like this lip gloss, as it is a nice thickness, as it is not to thick, also I really like the colour, which is a dark pink colour with gold undertones, which also is a nice colour over a nude lipstick as well it is very pigmented and looks lovely on different skin tones.
Finally I think it is a great product for the price as well, as it has very good staying power as well.

Review: MUA Nail Quake nail polish

Hi
Today I am going to be reviewing the MUA Nail Quake Nail polish, which is a crackle nail polish, in Broken Arrow, which is a dark purple colour.
Make Up Academy Prof Nail Quake Nail Polish Broken Arrow
I really like this crackle polish, as it is a colour that Barry M or W7, has not yet brought out in crackle form.  Also I really Like the brush as it is thinner than the Barry M and W7 polishes that I have tried meaning that you can get to the edge of you nail easily, and less of the polish goes onto you finger- Less to tidy up!
This Polish costs £2.99 and is available from selected Superdrug stores that stock MUA, and online:
http://www.superdrug.com/make-up-academy/make-up-academy-prof-nail-quake-nail-polish-broken-arrow/invt/276760/&bklist=
I have this polish over No7's Beanie
, which is my previous nail of the day which you can see here on its own:
With the Crackle

Overall I really like this polish, and think it leaves a nice effect over the darker polish, which is less noticeable, but it is also nice over lighter nail varnishes and leaves a more dramatic effect.

Review: Sally Hansen Insta-Dri

Hi,
Today I am reviewing the Sally Hansen Insta-Dri, Anti-chip top coat, which is available from Boots, Superdrug and Amazon,
http://www.amazon.co.uk/Sally-Hansen-Instant-Dry-Topcoat/dp/B000TC31GY/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1317164114&sr=8-1

I really like this product and truly think it makes you nail varnish last a lot longer without chipping, for example if I used this top coat on a Sunday my nails will not have chipped till at least the Wednesday, also my nail varnish is touch dry in about 30 seconds and leaves a lovely shine to the nail as well.

Overall I feel this is a very good product, and would recommend it to anyone.

Review: Witch Face Primer

Hi
Today I am going to be reviewing the Witch anti-blemish Skin Clearing Primer.
This primer is available from Boots, Superdrug and supermarkets in the UK, which costs £6.99 for 30ml.
http://www.boots.com/en/Witch-Anti-Blemish-Skin-Clearing-Primer-With-Witch-Hazel-Extract-30ml_1160734/
I really like this primer, this is because the cream texture is not to thick, as does not take long to absorb, also I feel that it has started to clear up my spots since I have started using it.
Also I really like the pump packaging.
Overall I really like this primer so far, and feel it is one of the better primers I have used.
